St.Kitts and St.Lucia Lose Visa Free Entry to Ireland

Ireland golden visa

Ireland has terminated visa free entry for St.Kitts and St.Lucia nationals effective from Monday 15 June 2026.

  • A Visa will be required to obtain a visa before travelling to Ireland.
  • Applies to the holders of ordinary, diplomatic and service passports.
  • A transit visa will also be required, if intending to transit through Ireland en route to another destination.

The Minister Brophy announced the visa requirements said, this is a carefully considered decision that brings Ireland more closely in line with the approach taken in the United Kingdom and across Europe. The “Irish visa requirements are kept under continuous review. The aim is to strike the right balance between maintaining effective immigration controls and ensuring that people can continue to come to Ireland to visit, work, study, or join family members

The new visa requirement for nationals of St Kitts and Nevis and St Lucia is part of an ongoing process to keep Ireland aligned with practices in the UK and the Schengen area.

-Minister Brophy

United Kingdom

UK rescinded visa free access to St.Lucia last year citing overstay concerns. St.Kitts citizens require ETA to visit United Kingdom.
