The Argentine government has canceled the tender for much awaiting citizenship by investment program. Argentina’s economic citizenship program was established through Decree 524/2025 in July 2025 creating so much noise in the CBI industry.
On April 14, 2026, Argentina’s Minister of Economy Luis Caputo signed Resolution 522/2026 (RESOL-2026-522-APN-MEC), formally cancelling the international tender that was set to appoint a master consulting firm to design, launch, and operate the country’s Citizenship by Investment program.
The International Single Stage Public Tender under open purchase order modality
No. 34-0001-CPU25 relating to the contracting of one (1) master agent for comprehensive consulting service for the design, implementation, launch and promotion of a citizenship by investment program with continuous technical assistance, under the modality of Open Purchase Order, for the term of four (4) years or until the issuance by the Agency of Citizenship by Investment Programs (APCI), a decentralized body acting within the scope of the Ministry of Economy, of the maximum amount of five thousand (5,000) approvals for for citizenship by investment.
The Secretariat in its report said, considering the complexity involved in the design and implementation of a citizenship by investment program, concluding that, although the several bids were admissible because they meet the formal and technical requirements, there remain relevant divergences regarding the proposed approaches.
The Ministry of economy came to a conclusion that, current conditions might not ensure coherence required for the proper implementation of the program , which makes it advisable to carry out a re-evaluation of the operational relevance of the ongoing process.
