The Sao Tome and Principe citizenship by investment program has received 220 applications so far according to the official announcement by CIU

He said, This early traction reflects the CIU’s operational efficiency, as well as signaling investor confidence in our program, and our country. Investments from the program are being directed to the National Transformation Fund, ensuring a stronger, brighter future for São Tomé and Príncipe.”
Important Amendments
Effective 10 April 2026, The STP CIU has sent a memo to agents notifying new changes to the program making it more efficient and friendly for applicants.
- Biometrics – Remote passport issuance via video verification replaces in-person biometric enrollment;
- Multiple Nationalities – Applications from holders of three or more nationalities are temporarily suspended under Nationality Law No. 07/2022;
- Adult children – Revised dependency framework for adult children above 18 is pending formal issuance.
