AIMA provides another online service related to the Residence Permit to expedite the processing of expiring residence permits. This new functionality is available on the Contact Form found at the following link: contactenos.aima.gov.pt .
All foreign citizens holding a card/title when choosing the “Residence Permit” topic can ask AIMA for:
- Changing the data provided for granting a Residence Permit
- 2nd copy of the Residence Card/Permit
Correct completion of the form requires submission of a copy of the passport and residence card/permit in the field provided for this purpose.
Note: Requests can only be made up to 90 days before the validity of the Residence Card/Permit.
In addition to these documents, and depending on the request made, it is also necessary to send a copy of the following documents:
- Change of data – Proof of reason for change
- 2nd Copy – Proof of police participation presented to the police department
