The Cyprus Civil Registry and Migration Government has announced the deadline of immigration permit to chinese and other foreign country nationals due to Covid-19 pandemic.
All Chinese and other country nationals who are stuck abroad due to arrive by 21/03/2020, may extend their arrival due date until 30/11/2020 without being deprived of their right of permanent residence. This decision applies to all foreigners regardless of nationality.
These new measures were adopted on July 20, 2020. Those who are affected must submit a written request to the department prior to their arrival and must meet all the Covid-19 measures including providing medical tests and certificates.
The Immigration permit equivalent of permanent residence is issued to golden visa holders and also those who apply for citizenship by investment program investing €2 million euros. After six months of holding immigration permit, HNWI are allowed to apply for cypriot citizenship and passport under the program regulations
