This article will clear some air on fake citizenship by investment schemes running in many parts of the world. If you hear about a passport from from a country in Africa, South America or in Asia it is more likely a scam. You will lose tens of thousands of dollars chasing after cheap passport offers.
There is a thriving fake passport market and plenty of immigration scams operating in many countries.
What You should Know
- No South American country is willing to sell you citizenship or passport unless you are legal resident there for more than 2-3 years.
- Africa has no citizenship by investment schemes. Comoros used to run one but now it is suspended
- Asia also has no citizenship by investment scheme (except one country Cambodia)
- US and Canada only offer residence green cards. Their citizenship or passport is NOT for sale.
- Stay away from fantasy and camouflage passport scams. EU has published a list of passports which are not recognized, and schengen visas cannot be affixed.
- In the Middle East, Jordan and Egypt do have official citizenship for investment programs. No other country offers passports for investments. UAE, Bahrain, Qatar recently opened gold visa schemes luring property investors and startup companies.
- Citizenship by investment schemes do not offer diplomatic passports. Many wealthy people wrongly assume diplomatic passports offer automatically offers immunity. This is totally not true. Infact ordinary citizen passports are so much better and powerful than diplomatic passports. Diplomatic passports are not for sale!
- Vanuatu is the only country that has pacific citizenship by investment sale program. No other islands offer passports for sale. Some countries such as Nauru, Tonga, Marshall Islands operated passport for sale schemes twenty years ago in 1990’s. Now they are closed. Any citizenship offers other than vanuatu from the pacific is probably fake.
- In Europe, only five countries – Malta, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Turkey have legitimate citizenship for sale schemes. The rest are fake!
