The Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica has made a major announcement during press conference on June 10, that Dominica’s Government intends to introduce a mandatory personal visit requirement for successful Citizenship by Investment (CBI) applicants to visit the country and collect their passports in person.

The Government of Dominica has tightened the screws on citizenship by investment program requiring one time physical visit to Dominica to collect passport as a new security measure bringing CBI program inline with international passport regulations. Dominica severe visa restrictions placed on Dominica by United Kingdom and United States for operation of CBI program.

According to Government, the new measure forms part of broader reforms under the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed by the five Caribbean CBI jurisdictions, aimed at strengthening regional cooperation, enhancing due diligence standards, and safeguarding the long-term sustainability of the programmes.
These steps were taken to build a stronger connection between economic citizens and Dominica and align the programme with evolving international standards.
The Prime Minister said that full operational details, including timelines, will be set out in the upcoming national budget. Applicants, partners, and agents to await formal guidance before making arrangements.
