Malta residence program accepts defacto partners from third countries to apply for residence permit through investments under the MPRP program.

De facto Relationship

A de facto partnership is a relationship between two people (incl same sex) who live together as a couple but are not legally married. Such partners can legally apply as dependent for malta permanent residence program.

Minister Approval

If a Main Applicant is in a De Facto Partnership and wishes to include the partner as a dependant, it is important to follow the below procedure prior to the submission of the MPRP application. Such special cases must be submitted in order to seek approval.

Documentary Evidence

The following documents are needed to prove

  • Passport copies of both partners
  • Birth certificate of partners
  • affidavit from friends or relatives, showing they have known the couple for number of years;
  • bank statements (either showing transactions between partners or showing a joint bank account);
  • rental agreement or purchase agreement of a joint property;
  • dated photos portraying the couple;
  • flight tickets of travel together..
  • any other relevant documentation.
