The United Kingdom has revoked visa free regime to All citizens of Dominica and Vanuatu. As a result of this suspension of visa waiver agreement, nationals of these countries must apply for a visa to visit United Kingdom.
Dominica
Effective from 19 Jul 2023, Dominica nationals will need a visa to enter United Kingdom. The UK Government came into this conclusion after careful consideration of Dominica’s operation of a citizenship by investment scheme has shown “clear and evident abuse” of the scheme, including the granting of citizenship to individuals known to pose a risk to the UK.
Vanuatu
Effective from Aug 16, 2023, all Ni-Vanuatu citizens will require a UK visa to enter United Kingdom. They must apply for visitor visa at the British high commission in Port Vila for tourism, business, academic and conferences. Visa applications are submitted and paid for online at www.gov.uk/apply-to-come-to-the-uk, after which applicants book an appointment to provide their biometrics and hand over their passport. The UK Government aims to process applications within 15 UK working days of receipt of the passport and biometrics. Applicants can apply up to three months in advance of travel.
Standard Visitor Visa
A Standard Visitor Visa can be used for tourism, business, study (up to 6 months) and other permitted activities. Individuals can usually stay in the UK for up to 6 months and might be able to apply to stay for longer in certain circumstances, for example to get medical treatment.
