The Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica during a recent press conference has announced that Dominica continues to engage in discussion with the United Kingdom (UK) government to restore visa-free travel to Citizens of Dominica.
We have a new High Commissioner in London and I have made it clear to her that this is priority number one for us.”, he said during the press conference. The Prime Minister stated further that she was advised to place the visa-free regime at the top of her agenda. “She has started that process, and so we will continue to engage, and we hope that the visa-free regime will be restored for Dominica,” he added.

He added there is sufficient positive argument to be made and to be considered by the United Kingdom government for the reinstatement, so we look forward to that.
On July 19, 2023, United Kingdom imposed visa requirement (revoking visa free status) to Dominica citizens, citing Dominica’s operation of a citizenship by investment scheme has shown clear and evident abuse of the scheme, including the granting of citizenship to individuals known to pose a risk to the UK.
