Blacklisted countries for St Kitts citizenship by investment

The Government of St Kitts and Nevis from time to time bans certain country nationals from applying for Citizenship by investment program. These country nationals are considered high risk nationals were put on the restrictive blacklist

  • Iran
  • Afghanistan
  • North Korea
  • Cuba
  • Russia
  • Belarus
  • Ukraine

Note: These nationals are not permitted to apply for St Kitts and Nevis regardless of where they live.

Citizens of IraqNigeria, and Yemen are not eligible for Accelerated Application Process, where applications are reviewed within 45 to 60 days. They can apply under ordinary procedure with processing times are 90 days or less.

Any applicants who would present security or reputational concerns to the CBI programme and to the nation of SKN are turned away or not accepted.

St Kitts CIU  applies a four-stage vetting process and stringent checks made against sanctions, terrorist-financing activity, anti-money laundering and criminal databases. Clients are required to provide evidence of proof and source of funds, as well as a clean police report.

The Government also looks for red flags that arise from applicants from screening report provided by third party due diligence firms.

Any person who has been denied a visa to a country with which St. Kitts and Nevis has visa-free travel and who has not subsequently obtained a visa to the country that issued the denial shall not be eligible to apply for citizenship in St. Kitts and Nevis through the CBI programme.

The St Kitts Citizenship by Investment Unit also works with global security agencies, such as Interpol, in addition to Joint Regional Communications Centre (JRCC), a sub-agency of the Caribbean Community Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS).

The CIU submits security vetting requests to the JRCC for those applying to our CBI programme, and applicants’ personal details are screened against the Centre’s Watch List databases to verify ALL applicants against databases held by international law enforcement bodies to maintain the highest standards of due diligence in the CBI industry.
